Amid PM Modi's France trip, proposal to buy Rafale-Ms, Scorpene subs cleared by DAC

Coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's trip to France, the Defence Acquisition Council reportedly cleared a proposal to buy Rafale-Marine fighter jets and Scorpene-class submarines.

In France, PM Modi is likely to announce deals to buy 26 Rafale-M jets, and 3 more Scorpene submarines to be built in India.

The DAC meeting was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, tri-services chiefs, and other senior officials, as per sources quoted by news agency ANI.
