A day after an Air India flight had to make an emergency landing in Russia due to an engine glitch, the airline is sending a replacement aircraft.

The Delhi-to-San Francisco flight was carrying 216 passengers and 16 crew members.

They are now stranded in the small Russian town of Magadan, around 10,000 km from the capital city of Moscow. Hotels in the area do not have enough space to accommodate everyone, so many people are staying in dormitories, as per reports.

The Indian embassy in Russia was tasked with providing food and essentials to the passengers.
