China on Monday announced that it will be resuming its visa services for Indian students, almost two years after travel was stalled owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following the announcement, X1-Visa will be issued to students who intend to go to China to pursue long-term study for higher academic education, including newly-enrolled students along with students who want to return to China to resume their studies.

The Chinese Embassy in India updated “Application Procedures and Material Requirements of China Visa”, which will be implemented from 24 August, 2022.

Over 23,000 Indian students, mostly studying medicine, are reportedly stuck back home due to COVID-19 visa restrictions.
