4,000 pilgrims evacuated from Amarnath after heavy rains trigger flood alert

Over 4,000 pilgrims have been evacuated after heavy rains in Amarnath triggered a flood alert. 

According to reports, the rains caused the water bodies around the Amarnath Cave to overflow leading to an alert and evcauation of pilgrims. 

Meanwhile, the 'yatra' from the Panchtarni base camp to the cave has been suspended due to inclement weather.
