Bahujan Samaj Party president Mayawati on January 15 said that her party will fight 2024 Lok Sabha elections alone.

Addressing a press conference on her birthday, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said that her party may consider an alliance once the elections are over.

She added that her party's experience with alliances has never been beneficial.

Targeting the BJP, the BSP supremo said that the central and state governments are making poor people their slaves by providing free rations.

Mayawati categorically denied reports in a section of the media about her retirement from politics.

BSP had contested the last Lok Sabha elections in 2019 in alliance with the Samajwadi Party.
