India logs world's biggest Covid spike for second day in a row

India has reported over 3 lakh coronavirus cases for the second day in a row. The country has set world record for the highest daily spikes in Covid cases for the second consecutive day. Over 3.32 lakh new infections and 2,263 deaths were reported in 24 hours, according to the data released by the health ministry on Friday morning.

This is the second straight that that the country is reporting over three lakh cases. India is second only to the United States in the total number of cases reported since the beginning of the pandemic.

The number of active cases has now gone up to over 24 lakh and the death toll is touching 1.87 lakh.
