India reported 36,401 new cases of Covid-19 on Thursday morning, taking the total caseload of the country to 3.23 crore, according to the Union Health Ministry. The death toll surpassed 4.33 lakh with 530 fresh fatalities.
The ministry said that active cases have declined to 3,64,129, the lowest in 149 days, and comprise 1.13 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March last year.
39,157 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours while the recovery rate increased to 97.53 per cent, the highest since March 2020.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.94 per cent, which has been less than 3 per cent for the last 24 days.
The govt also informed that 56.64 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive.
