India reported 45,352 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, the health ministry said on Friday, with 366 deaths. Kerala contributed 32,097 new COVID-19 infections and 188 deaths in the past 24 hours.

The national capital continued to see relief from the infection with only 39 new cases on Thursday and zero fatalities. Financial capital Mumbai is however scripting a different story. Mumbai’s cases climbed to 440 compared to the 415 on Wednesday. This marks the eighth consecutive day of uptrend in Mumbai's covid graph.

Meanwhile the vaccine drive is continuing full swing across the nation.  66 crore vaccine doses have been administered until now, of which Covishield — the vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University, and manufactured in India under licence by Pune-based Serum Institute in India — accounts for more than 87 per cent
