The Indian Medical Association has served a six-page defamation notice to yoga guru Baba Ramdev for his recent statements on allopathic and modern medicine. The IMA has demanded an apology from him within 15 days, failing which it said will demand a compensation of ₹1,000 crore.

The notice has also asked Ramdev to make a video clip in which he addresses the false and defamatory statements made by him, and circulate it widely on social media platforms.

The notice further asked the yoga guru to withdraw a 'misleading' advertisement from all platforms endorsing the 'Coronil kit', a product of his firm, as an effective medicine against Covid-19.
