In a delighting news for English cricket fans, flamboyant all-rounder Ben Stokes has been added to the squad for The Ashes tour to Australia. Stokes said that he is ready for Australia and is looking forward to seeing his mates and being on the field with them.

Stokes wasn't named in the initial squad but has now been given a green signal to resume training following his second operation on a fractured left index finger. He was on a break from cricket before that because of mental health issues.

He will depart for Australia with the Test team on November 4 ahead of the first Test in Brisbane on December 8.
