India and the US are set to sign the Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement or BECA agreement to further boost bilateral defence ties. The BECA will provide for sharing of high-end military technology, logistics and geospatial maps between the two countries. India will gain access to precision data and topographical images - on a real time basis - from United States military satellites under an agreement to be signed during the ongoing visit of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defence Secretary Mark Esper. The Indo-US defence ties have been on an upswing in the last few years.
