Here are some side effects of drinking too much hot water.
Increased load on kidneys
Your efficient kidneys have a strong capillary system to flush out excess water and toxins from the body. Consuming too much hot water will not improve or fasten this flushing process. In fact, excess consumption will increase the workload, which can have a dangerous effect in the long run.
Damage internal linings
Frequent consumption of hot water can cause internal scalding on the linings of the organs, it can also burn your lips, mouth and tongue. Make sure you check the temperature of the water before drinking, it’s better to consume it warm rather than hot.
Imbalance water concentration
It is said that drinking too much hot water, even when not thirsty, can cause an imbalance in the water concentration in the body. Also, too much water at a time can cause swelling of the brain cells, which in turn could be perilous for a human.
Dilution of electrolytes in blood
If there is excess water in the system, the electrolytes in the blood can become more diluted than those in the cells. This will result in the swelling of your cells which can cause headaches and other problems.
Disturbs sleep
Too much consumption of hot water causes an imbalance in your sleep. Avoid drinking hot water before going to bed as it would disrupt your sleep with frequent urination.
