Hong Kong: violence over extradition bill escalates

Violence in Hong Kong over the new extradition bill has escalated. Protesters have been involved in a tussle with the police and occupied the main downtown road. Riot police have fired tear gas shells as thousands of protesters blocked entry to Hong Kong's government headquarters on Wednesday. The demonstrators are protesting against the amendment that will allow people to be extradited to mainland China.
