Looks like people in Taiwan will go to any extent to convey their love for sushi! According to reports, dozens of people are changing their names to 'salmon', after a restaurant offered a deal that it would give free sushi to anyone with the Chinese characters 'Gui Yu' or 'Salmon' on their ID cards.
Officials in the government were swarmed with requests after the news broke. A CNN report suggests that authorities are now asking residents to stop sending name-change requests as it is a waste of the government's time.
Many salmon-themed names like 'Kuo Salmon Rice Bowl' were registered recently and two people even managed to eat sushi worth $460.
