Heavy rainfall lashes parts of Delhi, yellow alert sounded for the next 3 days

Heavy rain lashed in parts of Delhi and its neighbouring areas late on Sunday and Monday morning, leading to traffic snarls in several places and water-logging in many areas.

Isolated places in west, south-west and south Delhi witnessed thunderstorms with light to heavy rain.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) bulletin, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average and the maximum temperature was settled at 36.4 degrees Celsius.

The IMD in a forecast has said that Delhi will witness a generally cloudy sky with chances of thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain in the coming days. A ‘yellow’ alert has also been issued by the IMD for Monday to Wednesday.
