Indian archer Deepika Kumari regained the number one spot in world rankings after her Gold medal blitz at the World Cup Stage 3 in Paris. Her 3 gold medals in three recurve events including Women's individual, team and mixed pair events ensured that she returns to the top spot of rankings after 9 years. The gold rush in Paris started when Deepika teamed up with Ankita Bhakat and Komalika Bari to win the women's recurve team gold beating Mexico. She then along with her husband Atanu Das won gold in mixed pair. The archer from Ranchi then won the individual event to cap the perfect three out of three in the recurve women's section. Her tally after this blitz goes to 9 gold, 12 silver and seven bronze medals at the World Cups. A big boost for Deepika as she will be the only Indian woman archer at the Tokyo Olympics next month.
