Amid controversy over yoga guru Ramdev's contorversial remarks against allopathic medicines, Haryana govt has said that it will distribute Patanjali's Coronil to Covid patients in the state.
Anil Vij tweeted the decision to distribute one lakh kits of the controversial concoction on Monday evening, drawing criticism.
Coronil, which was launched in the presence of health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan in February, had triggered controversy after Ramdev promoted as medicine for Covid-19. He later dubbed it as an "immunity booster".
The Indian Medical Association has then questioned how the Health Minister - a doctor could promote a "falsely fabricated, unscientific product" before the country.
The WHO in Southeast Asia had also debunked Ramdev's claim saying it had not reviewed or certified any traditional medicine for Covid.
