Convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein has said that he never assaulted Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie, after she claimed in a new interview she had to 'escape' an encounter with the disgraced movie mogul.
Weinstein who is currently serving a 23-year sentence for rape and battery charges said that 'it is brazenly untrue and clickbait publicity'.
He claimed that Jolie was making up the allegations in order to boost sales for her book 'Know Your Rights'.
The heated response from Weinstein comes after the 'Maleficent' star previously claimed that she was sexually harassed by convicted rapist and film producer Weinstein, while referring to an incident that occurred while working on the 1998 film 'Playing By Heart', produced by Weinstein's production company.
Describing the situation as an abuse of her rights, Jolie said Weinstein attempted to assault her and hence she had to warn everyone to stay away from him.

Jolie further added that she refused to work with Weinstein, time and again, but found it 'hard' when her ex-husband Brad Pitt continued to act in his projects, despite knowing he had assaulted her.
Jolie also claimed that she feared for her and her family’s safety during her marriage to Brad Pitt, who she filed for divorce from in 2019.
