Harley-Davidson has decided to discontinue its sales and manufacturing operations in India. The iconic American bike maker informed its employees of additional restructuring costs amounting to $75 million in 2020, which includes discontinuing the brand's operations in India. The action will include an associated workforce reduction of approximately 70 employees, the company said in a statement. The discontinuation of India operations is a part of the brand’s The Rewire strategy that was recently outlined by Jochen Zeitz, President, Chairman and CEO, of Harley Davidson. Harley-Davidson India had a manufacturing facility in Haryana. The brand expects to complete the restructuring actions within the next 12 months.
