Sachin Tendulkar, one of the most prolific batsmen in the history of cricket turned 48 on Saturday. Just like last year, the Master Blaster has decided to not celebrate his birthday this year as well. Tendulkar will not be celebrating his birthday to pay respect to the frontline workers who have been battling the Covid-19 pandemic since last year.
Born in Mumbai, Sachin made his debut at the age of 16 against Pakistan, and went on to create many records in his cricketing career spanning over 2 decades. The former Indian skipper is known for having the longest ODI career and being the only one to score a triple century. Sachin is also the first-ever batsman to score a double 100.
Tendulkar who played 463 ODIs and 200 Tests finished his illustrious career as the leading scorer in both formats with 15,291 and 18,426 runs respectively. The God of Cricket played his 200th Test match in November 2013 and bid adieu to international cricket.
