People cutting across communities have been sharing picture with their fathers in a massive pushback to the comment by the CM that was intended to be used as a slur.
A large number of people used #HamareAbbajaan to send a message of solidarity against the crass comment.
Yogi Adityanath on Sunday had said that prior to his government in the state, ration meant for the poor would be "digested" by those who said 'Abba Jaan'. The comment was widely seen as an insult to Muslims and led to widespread condemnation.
