Halep withdraws from French Open with calf injury

2-time Grand Slam winner and 2018 Champion Simon Halep has pulled out of the upcoming French Open. The Romanian tennis star pulled out after suffering a tear in her left calf during a 2nd round clash against Angelique Kerber in Rome last week. The former world number 1 has been one of the most consistent players in the women's circuit in recent times. Apart from winning the French Open in 2018, she was the finalist at Roland Garros in 2014 and 2017. She also won the Madrid Open in 2016 and 2017 and the Italian Open in 2020.
