Nearly 9,000 cases of black fungus have been registered across the country, Union Minister Sadananda Gowda informed on Saturday.
After a detailed review of the rising number of mucormycosis cases, a total of 23,680 additional vials of Amphotericin B have been allocated to states and UTs, Gowda tweeted. The allocation has been made based on the total number of cases which is approximately 8,848 across the country, he added.
He also shared an image revealing the break up of the vials allocated to different states. Gujrat which has 2,200 cases, the maximum number of cases will be given 5,800 vials. Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh will get 5,090 and 2,300 vials respectively.
