German priests from more than 100 churches have blessed same-sex unions in recent days in defiance of a Vatican decree signed by Pope Francis.

The movement ‘Love wins’ emerged after the Catholic Church said that God 'cannot bless sin', and led to German priests live-streaming their blessings which have now gone viral

In March, the Vatican decreed that the Catholic Church cannot bless same-sex unions. However, in response to this, more than 2,000 priests, theologians and other members of the Catholic Church in Germany and Austria signed a petition in favor of blessing same-sex couples.
