The biggest custody battle in the Bill - Melinda Gates divorce was likely to be the massive charitable foundation they have built together and now the erstwhile power couple is giving themselves a two-year trial period to see if they can co-parent one of the world's largest charitable foundations, 'The Gates Foundation.'

If after two years either decide they cannot continue to work together as co-chairs, French Gates will resign her position as co-chair and trustee," CEO Mark Suzman said.

In case the 'trial' does not work out Bill Gates would remain in control and, buy Melinda Gates out of the foundation, Suzman said. The foundation faced a blow last month as a marquee investor and close friend of Bill Gates Warren Buffet resigned from the board of trustees without citing any reasons.
