The new health ministry guidelines have recommend that individuals who have been infected by Covid-19 should defer vaccination by three months after recovery.
As per the new rules, the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine should also be delayed by three months for anyone contracting the virus after the first dose.
Individuals with any other serious general illness who require hospitalization or ICU care should also wait for 4-8 weeks before getting the Covid-19 vaccine.
The guidelines further stated that an individual can donate blood after 14 days of either receipt of the Covid-19 vaccine or testing RT-PCR negative if suffering from the virus. For lactating women, vaccination has been recommended, however, no decision has been made for pregnant women.
