Flipkart acquires Cleartrip, Fourth deal for Walmart backed firm in one year

E-Commerce major Flipkart has acquired Mumbai based booking platform Cleartrip for an undisclosed sum. Cleartrip buyout marks the fourth transaction sealed by the Walmart backed firm in one year. 

Flipkart has said they will retain all employees of Cleartrip and continue to operate it as a different brand.

The acquisition moves Flipkart closer to the superapp strategy undertaken by the likes of Amazon and Paytm.
