F1 2021: Verstappen roars to a win in Mexico Grand Prix, extends championship lead over Lewis Hamilton

The Formula 1 title race is now heating up after Red Bull's Max Verstappen drove from the 3rd spot on the grid to win the Mexican Grand Prix on Sunday night. The win ensured that the 24-year-old coming out of Red Bull's stables has a 19-point lead over Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes.

The 6-time winner and defending champion who is hunting for a record-equaling 7th title finished 2nd in the race ahead of local favourite Sergio Perez. Perez finished third to become the first Mexican driver to reach the podium in the history of the race.

There are 4 races left in the calendar and with Verstappen gaining momentum from his 9th win of the season, the fight to finish on top is only getting interesting.
