Nine retired IPS officers have questioned the Delhi Police’s investigation of the Delhi riots in the wake of the arrest of former JNU student and activist Umar Khalid. The IPS officers, including Julio Rebeiro, have written to the Delhi Police Commissioner SN Shrivastava questioning police probe into the riots. Calling the police's attitude "majoritarian" the former cops have stated that "the real culprits of the violence belonging to the majority community are likely to go scot free". "While implicating leaders and activists, who expressed their views against CAA, all those who instigated violence and are associated with the ruling party have been let off the hook,” the letter reads.
