Euro 2020: Italy enter quarters after a thrilling 2-1 extra-time win over Austria

The 2nd round of 16 clash at Euro 2020 was full of drama as 3 goals were scored in extra-time which came into play for the first time in this edition of the championship. Italy who last won the championship in 1968 edged past Austria 2-1 with Substitute Federico Chiesa put Italy ahead in the 1st period of extra time with a superb finish. The 2nd goal came from Matteo Pessina after a scramble in the box as The Azzurri led 2-0 after the 1st extra-time period. Austria did manage to pull one back but that wasn't enough as Roberto Mancini's side entered the quarterfinals at the European Championship for the 8th time. The win also extended their unbeaten streak to 31 games, a new national record with 12 wins in a row.
