Munna Bhaiya will not return for 'Mirzapur 3'. The grim news was confirmed by Divyenndu Sharma himself. In a recent interview with Humans of Bombay, the actor discarded fan theories of his possible return despite his character being killed in season 2. Divyenndu also revealed how playing the grey character in the crime series took a toll on his life, often leading to dark moments for him where he was left feeling suffocated.
While speaking to the Humans of Bombay, Divyenndu said, "On the Humans of Bombay, I shall declare that I am not a part of 'Mirzapur Season 3'." The news may come as a mild shock to 'Mirzapur' fans, given that Divyenndu's portrayal of Munna Bhaiya was widely acclaimed by both viewers and critics.
Divyenndu further shared that playing Munna Tripathi was taking a toll on his life. "When I was in character, it was affecting my personality a lot. We shouldn’t over-romantize, going too deep into a character, because it is not easy. At times, it used to get really dark for me. I felt suffocated. It’s so tricky that you don’t even realise that you are in that zone. It’s only when you come out of it do you realise how dark it was," he said.
The first look at 'Mirzapur 3' was unveiled at Prime Video's 'Ready for It' event on March 19. The special announcement was made in the presence of the stellar star cast, including Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and Shweta Tripathi, among others.
