"War 2" Crosses Rs 200 Crore Mark at Box Office

New Delhi, Aug 18 (PTI): "War 2," featuring Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan in pivotal roles, has successfully surpassed the Rs 200 crore mark at the domestic box office. Released on August 14, this highly anticipated sequel also stars Kiara Advani and is helmed by director Ayan Mukerji, known for his work on "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" and "Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva".

The film is a follow-up to the 2019 blockbuster "War," which featured Roshan as the RAW agent Kabir, alongside Vaani Kapoor and Tiger Shroff. Directed by Siddharth Anand, "War" grossed over Rs 471 crore worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film in India in 2019. Hrithik Roshan reprises his role as Kabir in this latest installment.

According to the trade tracking website Sacnilk, "War 2" has amassed a gross total of Rs 208.25 crore at the domestic box office.

"War 2" is part of the esteemed YRF Spy Universe, a series of action-packed spy films that includes titles like "Ek Tha Tiger" (2012), "Tiger Zinda Hai" (2017), "War", "Pathaan" (2023), and the upcoming "Tiger 3" (2023).

Produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films, the film follows the intense battle between rogue agent Kabir and elite operative Vikram, played by NTR, in a thrilling global chase. Notably, "War 2" also marks the Bollywood debut of NTR.

The film's cast is rounded out by talented actors such as Ashutosh Rana and Anil Kapoor.
