War 2 Triumphs Globally with Rs 300 Crore Collection

New Delhi, Aug 19 (PTI) Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's highly anticipated film "War 2" has made a remarkable impact at the box office, raking in a stellar Rs 300 crore globally.

The film, which hit theaters on August 14 along with Rajinikanth's "Coolie," features Kiara Advani and is helmed by acclaimed director Ayan Mukerji, known for his work on "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani."

"War 2" is the sequel to the 2019 hit "War" that saw Roshan portraying the RAW agent Kabir, aligned with Vaani Kapoor and Tiger Shroff.

This thrilling installment encapsulates Kabir’s journey as he turns rogue, clashing with elite operative Vikram, played by Jr NTR, in an adrenaline-pumping global pursuit. Notably, this film marks the Bollywood debut of Jr NTR.

The Yash Raj Films production showcased an impressive box office run, earning Rs 54 crore across all languages on Thursday.

It saw a surge on Friday, collecting Rs 61 crore, and continued to draw audiences over the weekend with Rs 36 crore on Saturday and Rs 34 crore on Sunday. By the fifth day, the film grossed an additional Rs 9.50 crore. International markets responded favorably, contributing Rs 60.50 crore, thus catapulting its total gross box office collection to Rs 300.50 crore, as per the release from its makers.

"War 2" is the latest addition to the expansive YRF Spy Universe, a series celebrated for its engaging spy action themes, which also includes "Ek Tha Tiger" (2012), "Tiger Zinda Hai" (2017), "War," "Pathaan" (2023), and "Tiger 3" (2023).

This cinematic spectacle is produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films.
