Ramanand Sagar’s popular TV show ‘Ramayan’ will soon return to the television screens. Shemaroo TV announced that the mythological drama will air from July 3 on the channel.
This announcement comes amid ‘Adipurush’s poor performance at the box office. The Om Raut directorial, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan, has faced a lot of criticism for its poor dialogues and VFX. The film has also been questioned for its authenticity and the representation of facts.
Arun Govil, who played Lord Ram in ‘Ramayan’, even slammed the film calling it 'Hollywood ki cartoon.'
Ramayan also starred Dipika Chikhlia as Sita and Sunil Lahiri as Lakshman.
Sharing a video from the TV show, the social media handle of Shemaroo TV wrote, ‘World famous mythological serial Ramayan is back for all the fans and our audience. Watch it from July 3, 7.30pm, on your favourite channel Shemaroo TV) (sic).’
On June 27, Allahabad High Court slammed the makers of ‘Adipurush’ and asked if they consider countrymen to be brainless.
Prabhas starrer is a mythological action film based on the Hindu epic Ramayana. The film is produced on a humongous budget of Rs 500 crore, making it one of the most expensive Indian films.
