Gurucharan Singh, known for his role as Sodhi in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,’ has been missing since April 22, causing concern among family, co-stars, and fans. A recent India Today report suggests that he was about to get married and was facing financial difficulties.

The actor was last seen in New Delhi, where he was reportedly roaming the streets with a backpack. He withdrew Rs 7000 from an ATM in Delhi before disappearing.

According to India Today, Gurucharan ‘was soon to get married and was struggling with financial difficulties.’ The report added, ‘He left his home for the airport in Delhi, but never took the route.’

Gurucharan Singh's phone was last located in Delhi until April 24, and it has been switched off since then. He was last traced near his residence in Palam.

On Friday, Gurucharan Singh's father filed a missing person complaint stating that Gurucharan, aged 50, left home at 8:30 am on April 22 to catch a flight to Mumbai. However, he did not arrive in Mumbai, nor did he return home. His phone has been unreachable, and despite efforts to locate him, he remains missing.

Rohit Meena, DCP South West Delhi, had told ANI, ‘Gurucharan's family registered a complaint that he has been missing since April 22. He was supposed to go to Mumbai, but he didn't. We have registered a case under Section 365 of the IPC. We have put together a team to probe the matter and our technical team is also working on the case. We are in the process of going over the CCTV footage, where he is seen walking by himself.’

Sodhi's close friend, Ms. Soni, spoke to Pinkvilla and disclosed that the actor had been unwell for the past few days, undergoing several tests. She also mentioned that he hadn't been eating properly recently.

‘Before leaving for Delhi, his blood pressure was high and he had undergone a few tests as well. He wasn’t even eating much before he left for Delhi. I really hope and pray that he is fine, and returns back safe and sound,’ Ms Soni said.

Gurucharan, who gained fame for his comedic roles in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, left the show a few years ago.
