Mumbai, Aug 20 (PTI) — Shah Rukh Khan's recent shoulder injury, sustained on the set of his film "King", didn't stop the megastar from adding a dose of humor to the situation during an event on Wednesday. He also spoke about his son Aryan Khan's highly anticipated directorial debut on Netflix.

The actor, who clinched the National Award for Best Actor for his role in the 2023 hit "Jawan", reassured his fans with his signature charm. Despite the demanding recovery time needed for his surgery, Shah Rukh light-heartedly promised, "To pick up the national award, I only need one hand." His humor was evident at the preview launch of "The Ba***ds of Bollywood", where he quipped about his injury and its impact on his daily routine.

Sporting a sling on his right hand at the event, SRK humorously remarked, "I can still manage to eat, brush my teeth, and scratch the back of my head with one hand. Yet, the difficulty lies in taking in all your love with my iconic arms spread wide gesture."

Known for his quick wit, the 59-year-old actor didn't miss the opportunity to jest about Aryan's directorial venture. "When Aryan said he was creating a raw and edgy show about Bollywood, I joked if it was just CCTV footage from Mannat being uploaded to YouTube," Shah Rukh shared.

However, the proud father did not hold back from praising Aryan's work. "It took me a moment to fully grasp the concept, but once I did, I was captivated. I'm thrilled with the show's fresh take and the exceptional cast that brings the story to life. The characters truly weave magic on screen," he remarked.

The upcoming series promises to be a genre-defying mix of self-awareness and cheeky humor. It features an ensemble cast including Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Vijayant Kohli, and Gautami Kapoor.

The series is co-created by Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan, with Aryan, Siddiqi, and Chauhan co-writing the script. Gauri Khan produced the series under the esteemed Red Chillies Entertainment banner.
