Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara’ is a massive success and a global box office hit. It has collected Rs 400 crore worldwide and is expected to spell more magic at the box office. It becomes the second Kannada film to reach such height and the highest-grossing film ever in Karnataka.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the film had crossed the ₹400-crore mark globally in under two months in gross collections. The tweet also showed the individual earnings in a few territories.
‘Kantara’ earned Rs 168.5 crore in Karnataka. It has also performed well in North India and collected Rs 96 crore. In Kerala, the film minted Rs 19.2 crore while in Telugu states it earned Rs 60 crore. It’s Tamil Nadu collection marks at Rs 12.70 crore.
It was made on a budget of Rs 15 crore and was expected to earn less than Rs 100 crore mark. On Sunday, the film beat ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ by earning Rs 155 crore in net earnings within Karnataka.
The action-thriller film is focused on Bhootha Kola, a traditional dance for the deity. It consists of topics such as man vs nature, rituals, land politics and many more. It is running over 1,000 screens worldwide. It has received huge appreciation from the audience as well as the critics.
