Superstar Rajinikanth met Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on September 11. The duo greeted each other with a hug and shook hands as well. What caught our attention was how the Malaysian PM imitated Rajinikanth’s popular gesture from the film, ‘Sivaji: The Boss’.

The Malaysian PM also shared a few pictures from their meeting on X, formerly called Twitter and wrote in Malay, ‘Today I received a visit from the Indian film star, Rajinikanth, who is a familiar name on the Asian and international art world stage. I appreciate the respect he gave to my struggle especially regarding the issue of misery and suffering of the people. Among the things that were casually discussed were certainly related to the social elements that I strive to include in his films in the future. Praying that Rajinikanth continues to excel in the field and the film world. (sic)’

Rajinikanth is currently basking in the success of his last film, 'Jailer'. Written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, 'Jailer' is a commercial action entertainer featuring Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The film also features Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan and Vasanth Ravi in lead roles. Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff had cameo appearances in the film.

Rajinikanth recently announced his next project titled, 'Thailavar 171.'  He has also wrapped the shooting for his daughter's film, ‘Lal Salaam’, in which he has an extended cameo. He is expected to begin 'Thailaivar 171' soon.
