The makers of Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups on Thursday unveiled a character teaser introducing Yash as ‘Raya’, coinciding with the actor’s 40th birthday celebrations.
The teaser presents Yash in an intense and enigmatic avatar, immediately drawing attention from fans. Set in a cemetery, it opens with bursts of gunfire before revealing Yash as Raya — composed, fearless and unflinching — wielding a Tommy gun. The brief clip offers a glimpse into the film’s dark, action-driven tone and marks the first detailed look at the character.
The release of the teaser came as a surprise for fans, particularly as Yash did not attend a customary fan meet on his birthday. Addressing this earlier, the actor on Wednesday shared an update on his Instagram Story, explaining that he was busy with work on Toxic. He said he understood how much fans had been looking forward to meeting him and that he missed them as well, adding that he could not step away as he was “fully immersed” in his work to ensure the film is completed on time. Yash also assured fans that they would meet in a “much bigger way” soon and said he would personally read all their birthday wishes.
In recent days, the film’s team has also released character posters featuring Yash along with the lead actresses — Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria — further building anticipation around the project.
Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Mohandas. The film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and other languages.
Produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under the banners of KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on March 19, 2026.
