New Delhi, Sep 3 (PTI) - On Wednesday, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan expressed his solidarity with the people of Punjab, who are currently enduring one of the most severe floods the region has faced in decades.

In a heartfelt post on his social media platform, Khan assured the resilient spirit of Punjab would endure despite the natural calamity. "My heart goes out to those in Punjab impacted by these devastating floods. Sending prayers and strength… The spirit of Punjab shall never break… may God bless them all," the acclaimed 59-year-old actor shared.

The state of Punjab is facing widespread flooding. The calamity has been triggered by the significant swelling of the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers, along with seasonal rivulets, due to heavy rainfall in the catchment areas of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Numerous locations throughout the state have been seriously affected by the floodwaters.

As reported by state authorities, floods from August 1 to September 2 have tragically resulted in the loss of 30 lives and have affected over 3.5 lakh people.
