Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has returned home after spending five days in Lilavati Hospital, recovering from a knife attack at his Bandra residence. The 54-year-old actor underwent emergency surgery following the January 16 incident, where he sustained severe injuries, including stab wounds to his hand, neck, and spine.
Doctors removed a 2.5-inch knife fragment from his spine during a five-hour surgery. After initial critical care in the ICU, Saif was moved to a private room on January 17, showing steady improvement. His wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, was spotted visiting him earlier on the day of his discharge.

The intruder, identified as 30-year-old Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, a Bangladeshi national living under the alias Vijay Das, reportedly entered Saif’s house intending theft. Shariful allegedly hid in the garden before confronting the actor, unaware of his celebrity status.
Mumbai Police arrested Shariful in Thane and revealed he worked odd jobs, avoiding positions requiring documentation. They are investigating how he entered India illegally and gained access to the Bandra property.

In light of the attack, CCTV cameras have been installed at Saif’s residence to bolster security. The incident has raised concerns over safety in upscale neighborhoods and for high-profile residents.
