Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been discharged from Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital following treatment for injuries sustained during a violent attack at his Bandra residence on January 16. The incident occurred during an attempted robbery at his home in the 'Satguru Sharan' building.

Saif suffered multiple stab wounds, including a critical injury to his thoracic spine, necessitating two major surgeries—neurosurgery to address the spinal damage and plastic surgery for the stab wounds.

The attack unfolded late at night when an intruder, identified as 30-year-old Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, a Bangladeshi national, entered the premises intending to steal. A confrontation with Saif’s maid escalated, and when Saif intervened, he was stabbed nearly six times. Despite his injuries, the actor managed to escape and was rushed to the hospital in an auto-rickshaw around 2:30 AM, where immediate medical attention proved crucial in stabilising his condition.

Mumbai Police have arrested the suspect in Thane and recreated the crime scene as part of their investigation. Shehzad, who fled after the attack, has been remanded in custody for five days.

Doctors at Lilavati Hospital confirmed Saif’s condition has improved significantly, much to the relief of his family and fans. The incident has raised concerns about safety, but Saif is now on the path to recovery after the ordeal.
