New Delhi, Sep 1 (PTI) - Superstar Rajinikanth's film "Coolie" has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the Rs 500 crore mark in worldwide box office collections. Released on August 14, the film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for his acclaimed work on projects like Karthi's "Kaithi", Vijay's "Master" and "Leo", and Kamal Haasan's "Vikram".

According to the trade tracking platform Sacnilk, "Coolie" launched with an impressive opening of Rs 151 crore and has since amassed a total of Rs 504 crore globally. Domestically, the film's earnings stand at Rs 327 crore. The narrative centers around Rajinikanth in the titular role of a coolie who bravely confronts a corrupt syndicate exploiting his former colleagues in a bustling port town.

The ensemble cast features celebrated actors including Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, and Sathyaraj. Additionally, Nagarjuna takes on the role of the antagonist, while Bollywood icon Aamir Khan makes a special appearance.
