Preity Zinta refutes loan waiver allegations tied to BJP

Renowned Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has firmly refuted allegations that a Rs 18 crore loan was waived off by a bank in exchange for her extending favors to the BJP.

Taking to social media platform X, Zinta branded these claims as "vile gossip" and categorically stated that the loan in question was "fully paid back" a decade ago. She also criticized the Kerala Congress for disseminating what she described as "fake news."

The allegations originated from a post by the Kerala Congress, claiming that Zinta had surrendered her social media accounts to the BJP in return for having the substantial loan written off by the New India Co-operative Bank. The Congress post also highlighted ongoing depositor unrest due to recent withdrawal restrictions imposed on the bank by the RBI.

In a robust response, Zinta clarified that she independently manages her social media platforms. She expressed outrage at the spread of unfounded rumors and criticized the political party for propagating misinformation.
