Indore, Oct 6 (PTI) - Renowned lyricist Prasoon Joshi is set to receive the prestigious Kishore Kumar Samman for the year 2024, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the field of songwriting. This announcement was made by an official on Monday.
NP Namdev, who is the director of the state culture department, stated that Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will bestow the award upon Joshi during a ceremony scheduled in Khandwa, which is the birthplace of legend Kishore Kumar, on October 14. Khandwa will host a two-day award ceremony commencing on October 13, featuring performances of light music by local singers on its opening day.
The Kishore Kumar Samman is an annual award presented by the state government to individuals who have made outstanding contributions in acting, screenwriting, songwriting, and film direction. Introduced in 1997, recipients of this honor receive a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh alongside a citation.
