New Delhi, Sep 17 (PTI) – Global superstar Post Malone will make his solo headline debut in India’s Northeast, performing at a concert in Guwahati, Assam.
Organized by BookMyShow Live alongside Live Nation and the Government of Assam, the performance takes place at Guwahati's Khanapara Veterinary Ground on December 8, marking Malone's first stadium show in the region.
Previously, Post Malone graced Mumbai in 2022 for the Zomato Feeding India Concert, a charitable event enhancing awareness about hunger and malnutrition.
BookMyShow noted that the Northeast has become a crucial center for India’s live entertainment scene, driven by a youthful audience and a deep musical tradition.
BookMyShow's Throwback 2024 report highlights a 682 percent growth in live events across tier-2 cities, with the Northeast spearheading this development.
Recognizing this opportunity, BookMyShow signed an agreement with the Assam government earlier this year to advance the state’s live entertainment ecosystem.
Post Malone’s concert represents the first significant achievement of this collaboration.
“Post Malone exemplifies the pinnacle of contemporary global music, an artist with a unique sound and persona that resonates worldwide. Bringing him exclusively to Guwahati initiates an exciting new era for live music in the Northeast,” Naman Pugalia, Chief Business Officer – Live Events, BookMyShow, expressed.
Padmapani Bora, Managing Director of Assam Tourism Development Corporation, remarked, “Assam, with its rich heritage, music, and culture, aims to attract concert tourism and enhance its position as a hub for international entertainment by hosting Post Malone for his first and only performance in India’s Northeast.”
Post Malone, a multi-Grammy Award-nominated artist, recently completed his record-breaking North American and European tours.
Tickets for Post Malone's Guwahati performance will be available starting September 20th at 12 pm on BookMyShow.
