Los Angeles, Jul 29 (PTI) - Acclaimed Danish actor Pilou Asbaek, renowned for his role in "Game of Thrones," is set to star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the independent film adaptation of Jo Nesbo's gripping 2015 crime thriller, "Blood on Snow".
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the narrative follows the complex journey of Olav (played by Taylor-Johnson), a hitman who becomes romantically entangled with his mob boss's wife, the very person he's been contracted to eliminate.
Reflecting on his involvement, Asbaek described the experience as "incredible." "Being part of Blood on Snow has been an incredible experience," the 43-year-old actor expressed. "The team, cast, and crew are exceptional, and I’m proud to be involved in a project that has so much heart. I can’t wait for audiences to see it," he added.
Details regarding Asbaek's specific role in the film remain under wraps.
"Blood on Snow" is helmed by director Fukunaga, known for his work on "True Detective" and "No Time to Die." The screenplay is a collaborative effort between Jo Nesbo and Ben Power.
The production is shepherded by Mike Larocca and Michael Schaefer for Department M, along with contributions from Fukunaga, Nesbo, Tracey Seaward, Niclas Salomonsson, Youtchi von Lintel, and Dean Baker. Production commenced earlier this year in Latvia.
