Mumbai, July 17 (PTI) — Netflix has announced that its newest original series, "Saare Jahan Se Accha," a fictional espionage thriller led by actor Pratik Gandhi, is set to premiere on August 13.

The series is anchored in the politically charged 1970s and portrays a secret intelligence operation aimed at preventing an impending nuclear catastrophe.

Gaurav Shukla created the show while Bombay Fables produced it. In "Saare Jahan Se Accha," Gandhi embodies Vishnu Shankar, an efficient and determined intelligence officer facing the challenges of duty, danger, and moral conflicts.

The ensemble cast includes Sunny Hinduja, Suhail Nayyar, Kritika Kamra, Tillotama Shome, Rajat Kapoor, and Anup Soni, assuming significant roles.

"In 'Saare Jahan Se Accha', we’ve crafted a world that pulsates with urgency, intensity, and a looming intimidation subdued by silent tension," said Pratik Gandhi.

Portraying the role of intelligence officer Vishnu Shankar, a character balancing duty and morality, Gandhi adds, "It was one of the most challenging roles I have embraced."

The series, directed by Sumit Purohit, delves into the high-stakes intelligence arena where any lapse in transmitting crucial data could decisively alter the course of the nation.

Vishnu is entrusted with the hazardous mission of dismantling an imminent nuclear threat, navigating through a perilous scenario to keep India ahead of its foes.

The writing team includes Bhavesh Mandalia, Gaurav Shukla, Meghna Srivastava, Abhijeet Khuman, Shivam Shankar, Kunal Kushwah, and Ishraq Shah.

Mandalia also takes on the role of creative producer, working alongside executive producers Shukla, Sejal Shah, and Aditya Nimbalkar.
