Los Angeles, Sep 4 (PTI): The highly anticipated film "Wuthering Heights," starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, has released its first teaser and is scheduled to premiere in theaters on February 14, 2026.

This film is an adaptation of Emily Bronte's iconic 1847 gothic romance novel, set in the haunting Yorkshire Moors. It delves into the intense, obsessive love and quest for vengeance between Catherine Earnshaw and the orphaned anti-hero Heathcliff.

The narrative intricately explores themes of revenge, social class, and status. The casting of Elordi sparked controversy due to Bronte's portrayal of Heathcliff as a dark-skinned character, which is integral to his role as an outsider in the plot.

The 90-second teaser is accompanied by Charli XCX's track "Everything is Romantic" and showcases the longing between the two protagonists. It also offers a glimpse of Robbie's wedding dress, which became a viral sensation during filming.

Emerald Fennell, acclaimed for her work on "Promising Young Woman" (2020) and "Saltburn" (2023), serves as the film's director, writer, and producer.

Warner Bros. will distribute "Wuthering Heights," with Robbie also co-producing through her production company, LuckyChap Entertainment.

In the film, Robbie takes on the role of Catherine Earnshaw, while Elordi portrays Heathcliff. The supporting cast includes Hong Chau as Nelly Dean, Shazad Latif as Edgar Linton, Alison Oliver as Isabella Linton, and Owen Cooper, known for "Adolescence," as the younger Heathcliff.

The film's U.S. release is slated for February 13, 2026.
