J-hope will be the second member of the famous boy-band BTS to enlist in the military. BigHit Music announced the same via Weverse on April 1, 2023. The note informed fans of his enlistment and asked them not to gather near the military base.

J-Hope had earlier acknowledged that he had gotten a notice to enlist in the military. Big Hit's notice also informed fans that there will be no official event on the day of his entry.

The official note read, 'We want to thank all of the fans for their ongoing support of BTS and give you an update on J-Hope's impending military enlistment. By joining the army, J-Hope will serve the required amount of time in the military. Please be aware that the day of his entry will not feature any official events. Only military personnel and their families are permitted to attend the entrance ceremony. Fans are urged not to visit the site in order to avoid any problems that could arise from crowding. We instead ask that you hold your kind words of encouragement and good-bye in your hearts.'

It further stated, 'We also caution you against paying for unauthorized tours or product bundles that impermissibly use the artist's intellectual property. If any attempts are made to engage in commercial activity that makes unauthorized use of such IP, our company will take the necessary action. Until J-Hope completes his military service and returns, we humbly ask for your continued love and support. Our organization will work to give him all the assistance he requires at this time. '
